People pay alot of money for them, they are most commonly used in a dish thats basically called shark fin soup. Even though its actually illegal to kill endangered species, as you can see it doesent matter to those who get paid for it. Its actually really cruel the way they kill and despose of them, if you ever get a chance to watch shark water, I highly reccomend it if you have an interest in sharks. And if you dont think its a megamouth look up they're anatomy the gills, fin length, shape and head structure are all the same. Though it does appear to be swelling I dont thnk its due to pressure these guys do come up to the surface sometimes so obviously that makes no sense. See the markings on the underside of its mouth, as well as the placement of the gills.
