Wow!

The narrating and script in Bubba Ho-tep is really awesome, and the acting from Bruce Campbell was mind blowing, not to mention the editing, filming etc...

Been a long time since I have seen a movie this unique, well made and all round rad. If you haven't seen this movie yet, get going!

** SPOILERS AHEAD **

What I found really interesting with Bubba Ho-tep was the way that they buried a deep, meaningful story within a cheap, shallow horror movie, never seen this done before. However its a double edged sword - this is also the reason why some just fail to 'get-it', they dont see beneath the surface of the cheap horror movie. I mean the whole mummy aspect was totally lame, I don't think that had anything to do with the movie 'really'.

The Kings presence

The King's presence can be felt.

They conveyed the usual life message's very well (tiring as it is hearing them all the time) don't piss away your life - fight for what you believe in, dont be oblivious to or waste your prosperity/luck, blah blah.

The ending was also great, the word that comes to mind is impacting. Couldn't of thought of a better one. I would say the only negative thing about this movie is it has made me very very scared of getting old and its going to happen to everyone - even The King is not immune... (Unless they get over the whole little aging hump with science before I go down... for the final count.)

Ala Reservoir Dogs

Even if Bubba Ho-tep did 'borrow' from Reservoir Dogs (and Pulp Fiction: the dictionary words in the beginning) I dont mind, this is still a great movie, considering how unique the rest of it is and how much 'copying' crap we have to put up with these days. I gotta say I have built up some form of resistance. The Elvis character and all-round general humour was super sweet.

Another interesting aspect of this movie was the way that it felt so morbid and dull - yet its still good. Well whatever they did it works - great movie.
